We are a small family-owned and operated business. Like you, we have MANY students to teach, horses and dogs and cats and a mischievous donkey and families to nurture and maintain, so our ability to reply to inquiries is necessarily limited to dedicated office hours:

However, we make every effort to reply to all inquiries via email within 24 hours.

Our course purchases grant our registered users the right to use the content of this site, along with the content of any downloadable materials, for their own use.
This means that you may purchase or print the materials or use the content online, for your own educational, informational, or entertainment purposes.
Having said that, you are prohibited from violating our copyright by distributing PDF files, modifying, transmitting, reusing, or re-posting any of our content, including the text, images, and video, for any other commercial purposes unless we give you express written permission.
ONLINE COURSE PURCHASES
When you buy a course from us you are purchasing access to an online course, along with any printable download files or other Learning Levels resources we make available to you inside the course content.
We may occasionally offer gift codes for discounts on courses. These codes must be applied on the Cart or Checkout pages at the time of purchase. It is not possible for us to apply a discount code after the purchase has been registered.

STUDENTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18
Courses must be purchased by an adult (aged 18 or over) who is legally responsible for both the purchase and the use of the account.
If you purchase a course for the use of any minor child, you agree that the supervision of the child’s account activity is your responsibility.
Of course, we hope that you will be actively involved in helping your child learn and retain all of the information provided in our courses – thus making your investment worthwhile!
SUPERVISION OF ALL EQUINE ACTIVITIES
All information learned through our online courses MUST be put into actual practice under the supervision of an adult who is well-experienced with horses. As we teach in the courses, every horse and human interaction occurs with a unique set of circumstances: only an equine professional or experienced horse handler has the requisite knowledge and skills to asses those circumstances and determine the appropriate safe course of action.
We use Stripe (for credit card payments) and PayPal (for payments directly from your PayPal account, and for credit card payments with or without a registered PayPal account).
You may choose one of these two payment gateways during checkout.
Both payment gateways offer a secure payment process that will return you to our website’s Thank You page. Information to complete your account registration will appear on this page.
course refunds policy
As with most digital products, our online courses are not refundable.
Do please let us know immediately if you have technical issues or other problems related to your use of the course, however.
ACCESS TO ENROLLED COURSES
You must be logged in to access the content of any course you’ve purchased on our site. If you need assistance, please contact us!
Your course purchase allows you to access the course at any time (unless you cancel your account) and proceed through the course lesson structure at your own pace. When you have completed all the requirements for the course, you’ll receive access to a printable course certificate PDF file, which you may download for your own use.
You are the only student who is allowed to access the course: your username and password should NEVER be shared with anyone else.
NOTE: Any adult who purchases a course for a minor child is the account owner; at their discretion, they may allow the child to log in and use the account under the adult’s supervision.
You may cancel your account by sending us a message via our website contact form or email. Upon receipt of your request, we will cancel your account and block access to all of your enrolled courses; you’ll receive an email notification from us when the cancellation is complete.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER
When you purchase a course, we’ll ask you if you want to subscribe to our free email newsletter service. You can opt in at checkout or at any later time.
You can also subscribe to the newsletters without a purchase, using any of the opt-in forms around the website.
We’ll send you occasional email newsletters to keep you informed of new courses and special offers. We don’t like spam, so you’ll only receive newsletters when we have something worthwhile to share!

Personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect information about you on our contact forms and during the course account signup process as well as some basic activities such as the dates you make purchases, login to the site, or cancel/pause/resume your subscriptions with us.
We also collect information about you during the HorseSense Riding Academy Course purchase process (via PayPal or Stripe), as well as information relating to your course progression and quiz performance.
What we collect and store
If you communicate with us via our website Contact Forms, we’ll ask you to provide a name and email address so that we can reply to your message. We won’t use this information for any other purpose.
When you subscribe to a free newsletter with us, we’ll ask you to provide a name and email address.
When you purchase an online course, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password.
We’ll use this information to:
- Create your course account
- Send you information about your account, groups and orders. This may include payment receipts, password reset emails, and payment reminders.
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints.
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes.
- Improve our course benefits, content, and products.
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them.
While you enroll in a course, we’ll track:
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes.
If you enroll in a Learning Levels Course, we’ll store your course progress, including completion status, quiz scores, assignments and/or essay submissions (if applicable).
We will also store comments on courses, lessons, topics, assignments, and essays if you choose to leave them.
How long we retain your data
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store purchases and order information for 3 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
If you enroll in a course our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you log in to our site.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
What we share with others
We don’t sell or give your data to any third parties except as outlined below. Ever. Period.
Who on our team has access
Members of our team only have access to the information you provide us.
Only our site Owner/Administrators can access your account information, including order information such as payment dates and amounts; information concerning what was purchased, along with billing information; username / email address, and any additional information added in your Account Profile. Access to this information is used solely to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.
Should you enroll in a HorseSense Riding Academy Course that includes a Group Leader, that individual will be able to access information such as your enrolled courses, course progress and username / email address.
We accept payments through PayPal and Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal or Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
Embedded content from other websites
The only embedded content included on this site comes from our own videos, self-hosted via Publitio.io, and our own quizzes created on H5P.org.
What rights you have over your data
We store the personal information you provide in your user profile. Yous can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time. [Exception: for technical reasons you cannot change your username.]
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
