NEW FOR 2017:  We've combined Novice and Rising Rider camps into one big fun camp!

Wednesday, July 5 - Saturday, July 8, 2017
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Open to both non-students (little or no English riding experience)
and to our current Rising Rider and Red Level students
age 6 and up.

LIMITED TO 10 CAMPERS - Closing date: June 28

We've restructured all of our other summer day camps to better reflect our Learning Levels program  ... and this is now the only summer day camp open to kids who aren't regular students here at HorseSense.

So this camp is for you if:

you are aged 6 or older

you have NO previous experience with horses

-- OR -- you have a little experience (trail rides, a few lessons)

-- OR -- you've taken riding lessons, Western or English, and are competent at a walk or trot

-- OR -- you're currently enrolled in lessons with us and are working towards your Rainbow or Red Level Horsemanship ribbon.

Enrollment forms and detailed information may be downloaded here. After you have read through the info then sign up online or snailmail or bring us completed forms before the closing date.

All HorseSense day camp sessions include:

group riding lessons

HorseSense unmounted horsekeeping lessons

horsey crafts and games

small groups with close supervision

Ground Buddies* to help campers with horses, as required

zillions of things to learn about horses

fun, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes

2015 Rising Riders CampCampers may bring their own horse and English tack or use one of our veteran school horses. We require ASTM-SEI riding helmets, and will provide a helmet if you don't own one.  We also require safe footwear, preferably boots with a low (0.25") heel.

Detailed instructions are included with our enrollment forms for each camp.  Please read over the camp infosheet carefully.

Ground Buddies* Ground Buddies . . . are wonderful student helpers who volunteer to assist campers each summer. Ground Buddies help teach campers to tack up and untack horses and are there to lend a hand in the arena as campers learn to control their mounts. Most of our Ground Buddies started out as campers themselves; many continued on with lessons and are now proficient riders and reliable horsekeepers. We love our Ground Buddies!  Parents may wish to thank their child's Ground Buddy with a gratuity -- it's not required, of course, but it's always appreciated.

We have a lot of returning campers each year, and these camps fill up quickly!  Make sure you get your entry forms and deposit to us promptly to reserve a space in camp. You can browse thru photo albums for both these camps on our Facebook page, and watch videos of our previous camps here.
