show ribbonWe have lots of opportunities for our students to show off their riding skills! All of our shows and competitions are open to outside riders -- you don't have to be a student here at HorseSense to join in the fun -- and visitors are always welcome to come watch and cheer on the competitors.

Our spring event will be an open mounted games competition. We'll still have our 13th annual schooling show in the fall -- but this year we're dividing it into two shows, with the jumping classes showcased in a new schooling event called Just Jumpers.

We're also leaving room on the schedule for our show team to attend outside clinics and shows, and for our students to schedule personalized Power Up Camps.

You can keep track of these events with our printable Event Schedule and by checking in frequently with our Latest News page, our quarterly newsletters, and our Facebook page.

Don't forget we also offer other camps and clinics throughout the year!

Closing date:  Apr 29

We're celebrating spring of 2017 with a mounted games competition -- our favorite display of teamwork and colorful attire!

The Spring Fling follows the same format as our epic Trick-or-Treat Games:  Teams of two riders compete in relay races to complete tasks. Three divisions include Leadline, Novice (walk/trot), and Masters (very fast!). Ribbons are awarded to all competitors.

The competition is open to our students and to outside riders aged 6 and up. Find yourself a partner (or we'll match you up with someone) -- click here for details.

Rivermont Farm, TBD

North Atlanta Equestrian, TBD

We plan to send a team of HorseSense riders to participate several of these schooling shows and events in 2017. We'll finalize our schedule as dates become available.

For schooling shows, eligible students will be responsible for show entry and hotel fees; additional fees for Nikki's coaching and trailering will apply; limited trailering from our barn will be available.  Students who wish to join us should discuss details with Nikki well before each closing date.

In order to qualify for the HorseSense Show Team, students must have attended our Ready-to-Show Boot Camp,  or worked as a HorseSense Ground Buddy at an outside show, so that they are prepared to take full responsibility for the planning and logistics involved in showing. Read more about our Show Team, then talk to Nikki about shows and classes.

2014 NYTSS Not-Your-Typical Schooling Show*

Saturday, Sept 23, 2017 -- $15 + $5/class
Closing date:  Sept 16

This will be our 13th annual open schooling show, and because we like to change things around every few years, we've got a new format for 2017. This year, we're going to make our NYTSS all about flatwork and fun classes; we've moved our jumping division to a separate show. This way we can make the day a bit shorter and add in some fun stuff.

It's still designed for novice riders/green horses who want a relaxed and friendly show experience. Every competitor earns a ribbon, and points will be combined with our Just Jumpers Show points towards the show series Grand Champion and Reserve Champion -- see below.

Open to our students and outside riders of all ages. Mark your calendar now -- click here for details.
